Languages in Leart
Imagine a vibrant art class for kids where young artists are immersed in a world of creativity and cultural diversity. This unique class is conducted in two languages: English and/or Spanish, ensuring that children not only explore their artistic talents but also develop multilingual skills. The class is designed for inclusion, welcoming children from diverse backgrounds and fostering a sense of community through art. Each session begins with a fun introduction/instruction in all three languages, followed by engaging art activities with a key but simple theme (e.g. Cat, Chat..). As children create their masterpieces, they also learn vocabulary in English, Spanish, French and Catalan through the day's theme that will be repeated throughout the class, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. This multilingual approach not only improves their artistic skills but also broadens their cultural horizons, fostering a love of languages and creativity.
We believe that our multilingual art classes offers a multitude of advantages, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps while fostering a rich and inclusive learning environment. First, it promotes diversity and cultural understanding and enhances cognitive skills such as problem-solving ability and greater mental flexibility. Furthermore, it expands accessibility, allowing non-native speakers to participate fully and comfortably, thereby creating a more inclusive classroom. Furthermore, it prepares students for a globalized world, equipping them with the language skills and cultural awareness necessary to thrive in diverse and international environments. Ultimately, a trilingual art class enriches the educational experience, fostering creativity, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of art and culture.

The new vocabulary is easy to understand because it is presented in a visual way that is tangible. We try to repeat simple and specific words without complications (e.g. Dog, Perro, Chien).
We provide specialized attention in the language of preference of each student, thus allowing the correct integration of all the children in the workshop, as we seek to ensure that they can express themselves in the language they feel most comfortable with and do not feel limited.
